I created Arco because I could not find a backup solution that fulfilled my need for simplicity and great UX. I liked the way borg creates backups but I don't think most users would want to deal with SSH keys and decide about compression algorithms. I hope that I achieved to create a simpler solution that other people enjoy using.

Arco makes restoration easy. You can browse through your backup history, select the files or folders you want to restore, and extract them to any location on your computer. You can also mount backups as a virtual drive to browse them like regular folders.

Arco works with any storage you can access via SSH or mount locally. This includes external hard drives, NAS devices, VPS servers, and more. You have complete control over where your backups are stored.

Yes! Arco is fully compatible with existing Borg repositories. If you already use Borg Backup, you can import your existing repositories into Arco and continue where you left off.

No! Arco is completely free to use with your own storage. You can back up to local drives, NAS devices, or any SSH-accessible server. ArcoCloud is an optional convenience for those who want managed cloud storage.

Yes. Your backups are encrypted with a passphrase only you know. We use end-to-end encryption, meaning your data is encrypted before it leaves your computer. Even if someone gains access to your backup storage, they cannot read your files without your encryption key.

If you exceed your plan's storage limit, you'll be charged a small overage fee per GB of additional storage used. You'll always have access to your backups - we just charge for the extra space you're using.

Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period. After cancellation, you'll need to migrate your backups to your own storage.

Yes! ArcoCloud plans include a free trial period so you can test the service before committing. During the trial, you get full access to all features of your selected plan.
